Kaitlin here. Today is December 14, 2008. A couple days ago when my Mom and I were going to the grocery store we saw a deer crossing the road. The deer was right in front of us. It was only about 10 feet away from us when we crossed the road. After we saw the deer my Mom and I made up a song. We both loved the song so much tat all the way back to the boat we sang that song. That song goes a little like this...Kaitlin got run over by a reindeer, walking to the grocery store one day. She was drinking too much eggnog, and we begged her not to go. But she had to get some groceries, so she plodded out the door into the snow. When we got back to our boat my mom and I sang that song to my Dad and brother Casey. They both said it was so awesome.
Today we went through lock 3. Going through lock three was pretty fun. This lock was a lot different because if you wanted help you wold go on one side, and if you did not need any help you would go on the other side of the lock. We went on the side that you didn't have any help on. It went pretty well docking in that lock. After lock 3 we went to a dock right after that lock. The dock is getting crowded. There are three boats on the dock. It is not really a dock. It is a place where you can tie up to a wall that is 3 feet tall. That is all I can say for now.

Hi Kaitlin -
I can't wait to show Bryel the lyrics to your reindeer song... I am sure she will love it.
You missed quite an ice storm here this past week... no school for 2 days and most EG families without power, phone, cable, etc for quite a few days.
Bryel is anxious to send you a note so I will have her do that soon. Say Hi to your mom for me.
Suzanne Weinlein (Bryel's mom)
